Linking satellites with terrestrial networks

 Thrane & Thrane sells, designs, develops and manufactures land earth stations for the various Inmarsat services.

The land earth stations provide the interface for all types of Inmarsat services, including communication to aircraft (commercial and private), shipping traffic and land mobile applications.

The land earth stations are connected to terrestrial networks, providing the interface between the satellite system and the terrestrial public switched telephone networks, cellular networks and data transmission networks, including the Internet. They transmit data to and receive data from the satellites

Products are developed and sold mainly on a contractual basis and as turn-key projects delivering . complete stations including interface to terrestrial networks, large disc antennas, RF equipment and Access Control and Signalling Equipment. In addition to this Thrane & Thrane has developed extensive support activities providing upgrades, regular maintenance and 24-hour hot-line support service for our customers

Thrane & Thrane has supplied almost all the existing stations and has supplied stations since 1990. Most of these stations are still operational.

The BGAN RAN is the most recently developed system of stations that has been put into operation. It is used in connection with the Inmarsat-4 satellite system.
